Folk2Folk is re-setting the values around lending money.  We exist to provide a fair deal for all, to make lending easier, more reliable, less stressful and more productive for local communities.

Our customersDesigned around our customers

We listened to what local people wanted and designed Folk2Folk and our loans to answer those needs:

  • No stress
Borrowers do not want to be stressed by capital repayments so we decided upon Interest-only loans.
  • No shackles
Borrowers do not want to be tied into fixed term mortgages and Lenders do not want to feel their money is tied up for years so we created the Easy In/Easy Out loan which either side can give notice on with minimum inconvenience.
  • A fair deal for all
We are all about the fair exchange of money between Lender and Borrower. A fair deal for those looking for a better return on their money; a fair deal for Borrowers who want a simple, low cost loan delivered with a smile; and a fair fee for us.

Keeping it local

Folk2Folk is a proponent of what we call ‘keeping it in the community’ lending. Our focus is providing a local funding solution and a local investment opportunity for Borrowers and Lenders and in many instances these arrangements have local community benefits.

Taking an holistic view

We are quite particular about Borrowers.  Which is why we like to get to know them pretty well before they are approved and matched with one of our Lenders. But we don’t just rely on the usual checks and balances – we take an holistic view of the person (or business) and their project.  We believe that by having the full picture of someone we are better placed to judge whether they will make a ‘good’ Borrower, and we also believe it’s fairer on them. Dealing with people not just a website

We like doing business with people and we think our customers prefer it too.  We are one of the only P2Ps in the world with a high street presence.  Feel free to give us a call or drop in and see us! View our current office locations.

Not driven by greed

We are not driven by big fees but by delivering a great service where neither Borrower nor Lender is stressed.  We think this makes better business sense because we get great referrals from our customers which fuels our business.
